Devon Food Producers Readily Anticipate Outcome of 2010 Great Taste

When the top prize winners of the 2010 Great Taste Awards are announced in London on September, 6 several Devon based businesses will be hoping they will “bring home the bacon” although in their case it is more likely to be cheese, cream or chilli chocolate.

According to a release, the recently announced 2010 Great Taste Awards included, as always, a large number of Devon businesses. The top award of three stars was given to three of Devon’s top food producers, all of whom now have to wait to see who will be the top prize winners in September.

Exeter based Quickes Traditional won three stars for both its Farmhouse Extra Mature Cheddar and Farmhouse Vintage Cheddar. Also three stars went to Salcombe Dairy for its Devonshire Double Cream Ice Cream and for its Alphonso Mango Sorbet. Finally three stars went to Dartmoor Chilli Farm for its Dark Chilli Chocolate with Coffee.

Rachel Mildon, Economic Development Officer from Devon County Council said, “I am not surprised that so many of our Devon food producers have gained recognition in these categories. Devon is fast becoming known as the major food producing region in the South West gaining a reputation for excellent quality produce in a very competitive market.”

A full list of all the Food & Drink Devon businesses who gained stars from the Great Taste Awards appears on the “Love the Flavour” website: lovetheflavour.co.uk. The organisation is a county membership organisation for producers, hospitality, retail and catering businesses that are passionate about the provenance and quality of the Devon products that they farm, make, sell or serve. Only businesses that support local Devon products and can prove provenance are invited to join. IT is not typical of the chauffeurdriven limo service normally favoured by the rich and famous.

For a start, this one is an ageing Ford Escort van – and the chauffeur has left his uniform at home.

But, then, Susan Boyle is a long way from the typical preening pop star – and, judging by her cheerful expression, seems delighted with the service provided by a security firm.

The 49-year-old Britain’s Got Talent star, known as SuBo, was arriving back to her Scottish home in Blackburn, West Lothian, after picking up a few provisions at nearby Livingston shopping centre.

Her bodyguard, doubling as her driver, gallantly carried her shopping bags for her and darted round to open her door, while Miss Boyle looked tickled pink by his attentiveness.

Yesterday, a spokesman for local firm Clockwise Security confirmed: ‘We are providing security services for Susan Boyle’s management company.’ The firm provides both uniformed or undercover security guards and, said the spokesman, caters for the specific requirements of clients who find themselves in ‘unusual circumstances.’ That certainly applies to Miss Boyle who, not much more than a year ago, was a spinster living quietly in her former council house with her cat Pebbles.

Her showstopping appearance on Britain’s Got Talent changed all that, of course, and since coming second in the show, her debut album I Dreamed A Dream has sold nine million copies worldwide.

Miss Boyle had insisted she had no wish to leave the house where she grew up but security fears were raised in January when she found an intruder.

Since then she has spent e350,000 on a five-bedroom house in the same area but it is understood she has yet to move in.

Following the scare, the singer was persuaded to have a bodyguard.

Even though she couldn?t understand how to play it but was really happy to see the gift.

All the crockery in the party was according to the theme, plates, cups and napkins had pictures of the ogre?s face. Everything was matching in the ambience of the Shrek super party and I enjoyed every bit of it. I really enjoyed the Shrek cake on the ogre?s faced plates. The atmosphere of the party was real fun for the adult with the good sense of humor as the entire occasion was light-hearted and fun. I understood one thing that it is very difficult to organize a Shrek super party, hope they give such party again next year.

Remember, you are required to swear on the Bible in court. It?s not all a bit hypocritical is it? And the all important file sharing decision. How does that even make it to the Supreme Court? Well, file sharing is unconstitutional. Let?s recap: File sharing and the Ten Commandments unconstitutional. Taking your home is constitutional.

People are worried about President Bush appointing conservatives? You better hope he appoints some new judges in a hurry. Abortion will be the only right you have left. And if you think liberal judges care about your right to abortion you are wrong. It is an attack on religion. Particularly Christianity. That issue is just used to divide people while they strip you of your rights.

So many decisions are made by a narrow margin. An enormous amount of decisions on what is constitutional and what is not are made by a 5-4 margin. Isn?t our constitution worth more than that? That means a lot of times at least 4 or 5 judges ruling on everyone?s future in the United States have to be wrong. That in itself should be ruled unconstitutional.

If your machine has other sizes

If your machine has other sizes simply open the basting frame file and resize it, then Center the frame & save under a new file name [the size you changed it to]. Download, find your format & enjoy!

If you have embroidery software and only want to use the frames for making sure the design you’re creating stays within your actual embroidery field size;

Open the basting frame first; if combining in software.

Import or open the artwork for your design; add to open basting frame in software.

In your software, move the frame until it’s has about the same margin all around if needed.

Start digitizing using the 2nd color on your program?s Color Bar. Your design will stitch the frame first if you leave it, however you can simply edit past the first color when you’re at the machine.

If you want to stitch the frame for design security & less fabric “pull”, the stitches are easily removed when the design is finished by clipping the bobbin stitches about every 1.5 inches. The top thread will then pull off very easily.

If you would like to create your own basting frames:

Choose the single line stitch tool in your digitizing program.

Holding the Ctrl key down, start at the top left corner of the design area & place the 1st stitch point; move to the right corner & place the 2nd stitch point, lower right for the 3rd stitch point, lower left for the 4th stitch point and back to the top left for the last stitch point.

Go to properties; set stitch length for 4.50 to 5.0 mm; lock stitches if you have this feature.

Resize the frame to the desired measurements; remember to make this frame slightly smaller than the maximum size of your embroidery sewing field!

Save the frame file by naming the file as the size of the frame & the brand machine it’s for.
